And they say romance is dead? ” Together (2025), A Perfect Date Night Movie,” they said. đź’€ This movie is where republicans think trans people come from. That was creepy, but very entertaining.
The plot is definitely my worst nightmare, but I found this super amusing and I probably laughed a little too hard. Who knew horror could be so… couple-y? I stayed for their therapy session, literally. But yeah, it got me anxious for moments. This one is totally great.
My Rant: Why Is This Relationship So F*cked Up?
This movie was so fun. It was super creepy and super tense. The music made my stomach turn. That whole Millie and Tim fusing thing? Gross as hell, but it looked so good. Their relationship? Straight-up toxic. You’re watching like, “Why are these two even together?” And somehow the awkward arguments and dark jokes in between all the horror actually worked.
I’ve always said that in relationships, many people lose their individuality for the sake of the couple, forgetting where one begins and the other ends. Both partners often ignore that they were once individuals with their own identities before surrendering them to codependency. Would that concept work for a horror film? Absolutely, but I admit that I didn’t expect one within the body horror genre like Together, which may not go so far as to truly “disgust,” but it cleverly uses the genre’s tools to tell a story that hovers between black humor and the creepy. And that might get you in trouble with your partner if you make them watch it.

The cult thing was a bit “meh,” but that last scene? Damn. Seeing Millie and Tim fused together like that… it just felt wrong. Like they stayed together for all the wrong reasons: fear, habit, not love. And those last few seconds gave me chills.
The Most Disturbing Quotes from the Together Movie
“Together” gave us a visual no one wanted to see, but we all stuck around for. It bent my mind to keep watching, with amazing performances, and such gross mesmerization. Here are some of the most memorable quotes from this brilliantly disturbing movie. For more dark and psychological stories, you can check out my post on Dexter: Resurrection quotes.
“I don’t even think this is the right tool to fix the porch!”
This line, spoken by Tim, highlights the absurdity of their situation. He’s trying to fix their house, but they are literally stuck together. It’s a great piece of dialogue that shows us the dark humor of the movie.
“I JUST SAWED OUR FUING ARMS APART!”*
This quote perfectly captures the intense, chaotic, and grotesque nature of the film. It’s a shocking and hilarious line that will stay with you long after the movie ends.
“It’s painful to be away from you.”
A line that, on the surface, sounds romantic but in the context of the film, is incredibly creepy. This quote perfectly captures the disturbing nature of their codependent relationship.
“What a waste! What a stupid, stupid, waste of a human life!”
This quote, spoken by Millie, is a heartbreaking one that shows us the tragedy of her situation. She’s not just upset about her life, she’s upset about the life they built together.
“A man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
This quote from Genesis 2:24 is the central theme of the film. It’s a fantastic way to take a sacred text and turn it into a disturbing horror movie.
Why These Quotes Land So Hard
Together is a piercing codependency allegory with plenty of purposeful body-horror set pieces and a wicked sense of humor. The film stars real-life married actors Dave Franco and Alison Brie, which gives their dynamic a lived-in authenticity that elevates every scene. Their real-life chemistry sells even the wildest narrative turns, grounding the body horror in something heartbreakingly human.
The movie explores what happens when a relationship goes stale, and it uses body horror to show us the consequences. It’s a strange but gripping drama that will make you rethink your own relationships. If you’re a fan of dark shows with messed-up themes, you might want to read my post on The Sandman quotes. Final Rant & Call to Action
Ok, I wish the dog scene hadn’t happened, and right off the bat, it made me want to hate it. I wish they had used like bears? Idk. And the inhaling hair 🤢 I CANNOT. I still enjoyed it and the story but definitely don’t plan on watching it again. The Spice Girls scene was honestly everything though, it cracked us up. Dave Franco is so back. What a fantastic movie. I would definitely watch it again!
