Paddington in Peru Short Review:
Paddington in Peru (2024) is always so wonderfully English. 🇬🇧🥵 But oh, Mary was recast! The new Mary is great, but she feels so different from the original that I couldn’t fully believe they were the same person. It almost felt like the Browns divorced and were trying to pretend nothing happened. The performances, however, remain fantastic, and the warmth of the Brown family is still very much present.

Still, this movie is great fun! The mid-credit scene was brilliant, hopefully setting up Paddington 4 perfectly. Saw this with my mum today, and we had an amazing time. It’s super funny, though not quite as hilarious as the first two. However, what it lacks in humor, it makes up for with thrilling moments and the absolute brilliance of Olivia Colman. She steals every scene she’s in, bringing a mix of charm and mischief that fits right into the Paddington world.
Hayley Atwell looks stunning in her cameo, and I think I might be in love with Emily Mortimer’s voice. The cinematography in this installment is breathtaking, capturing the vibrancy of the Amazon jungle and the warmth of Paddington’s world in stunning detail. The adventure aspect of this movie is dialed up, with plenty of heartwarming moments that remind us why we love Paddington so much.
Kids will adore it, and honestly, so will the adults. It’s another delightful entry in the franchise, proving that Paddington’s charm is timeless. 😊
