The situation intensified after Miley watched Billy Ray’s performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration, which she reportedly found “concerning.” The performance was plagued with technical difficulties, but Billy Ray defended his decision to be there, posting on Instagram, “I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me.”
Miley’s older brother, Trace Cyrus, added to the drama by sharing an emotional Instagram letter addressed to Billy Ray. “We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns,” he wrote, expressing concern for his father’s well-being.
He continued, “You’re not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it.” Trace also offered support, mentioning his sobriety: “I’m over a year and a half clean from alcohol. Guess what? I feel amazing… I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me. Till that day comes I will continue to pray for you.”
Meanwhile, a source told People that Miley wants no part in the ongoing family drama. “Miley used to feel overwhelmed by the family drama. She worked hard to remove herself. She’s not about to get involved again,” the insider shared. “She’s in a great place now. She’s thriving and looking out for herself.”
