Honey Don’t: 10 Quotes from the Wildest Lesbian Comedy

Lesbians, murder, AND a cult? Count me in 🙂‍↕️. Honey Don’t is a wild ride, and I’m so excited. I loved it, and I definitely feel like it’s a movie for the lesbians and gays. Margaret Qualley and Aubrey Plaza were so hot tho. An happy day for lesbians. All I can say is, Margaret, you will always do it for me, but honey, this movie did not. It was a very okay movie, definitely not bad. It was just a big nothing happening, but a lot of entertainment.

I Fell for the Lesbian and Cast Hype

I’ll be honest, as a lesbian supporter, I give this a 4/5. But for the plot, I give it a 2/5. There’s literally no point to this film. There was so much happening, and yet nothing gets resolved. It’s peak male fantasy of what they think lesbians are. It’s just a bunch of chaotic, messy, and sexy scenes with no real story. I wish this whole movie was just the sex scene 👏.

Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza, and Margaret Qualley in Honey Don't! (2025)

I should’ve listened to the warnings! I loved watching Aubrey and Margaret together, but ultimately this film was boring. Cheers to lesbians and tooth gaps! I mean, who doesn’t love a good tooth gap? It’s iconic.

Top 10 Quotes from Honey Don’t

Honey Don’t is a masterclass in tension and emotional grit. It’s a slow burn that gets under your skin and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Here are some of the most memorable quotes from this brilliantly disturbing show. For more great lines, check out my TV series quotes section.

“I’m Honey O’Donahue. I’m a private investigator.”

Who Says It: Honey O’Donahue (Margaret Qualley)1

This quote, said by Honey, is the central theme of the film. It’s a great line that reminds us that the movie is about a lesbian private detective who investigates a questionable church and its leader.

“You can’t have one without the other.”

A quote that is repeated throughout the movie, this line highlights the duality of good and evil. It’s a key line that shows us that the line between hero and villain is very blurry.

“The more you try to fight it, the more it will consume you.”

This line perfectly captures the psychological horror of the film. It’s a great piece of dialogue that shows us the terror of being trapped in a situation you have no control over.

“We all have a choice. We can either be the weapon or we can be the shield.”

This quote, said by one of the main characters, is a great one that really stood out. It perfectly captures the moral of the story.

“There’s a thin line between genius and madness. And you, my friend, are walking on the tightrope.”

This line is a fantastic one that gives the villain a sense of purpose beyond just being a bad guy. It’s a chilling quote that shows us that the villain is not just evil, but also brilliant.

Why These Quotes Land So Hard

Honey Don’t is a visually stunning comedy that’s a welcome addition to the Coen Brothers franchise. Reviews praise the show’s tense atmosphere and stunning visuals, with critics at The Guardian calling it “mesmerizing.”

This is a movie that explores how trauma can turn people into the worst versions of themselves. Margaret Qualley and Aubrey Plaza have a great chemistry as two people who know how to read other human beings better than most people. Their performances are so good that they hold the show together, even with all of its twists and turns.

If you love movies with psychological twists, you might also like my take on The Sandman quotes or the chaotic female friendships in The Hunting Wives quotes. You can also find more of my movie quotes here.

Honey Don’t, directed by Ethan Coen, and starring Aubrey Plaza and Margaret Qualley, is a masterclass in tension and atmosphere. I love that the whole family is more involved. The vibe, the tension, and the editing of the film are sensational, I felt like I was watching another episode of this universe that Boyle created and that, for me, is a positive thing.
