Donald Trump has sparked outrage within his own MAGA supporters after posting what critics have labeled a “blasphemous” AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus on his Truth Social account, shortly after unleashing a blistering attack on Pope Leo XIV.
Disillusioned Trump backers have started recording themselves torching their MAGA hats in protest of the president’s controversial posts. One video that has gone viral on X, racking up over 300,000 views, showed a man pouring gasoline over his red MAGA cap before igniting it, with massive flames rapidly consuming the hat.
Another clip making the rounds on X featured a MAGA hat ablaze on a barbecue grill. In a separate TikTok video, a former Trump follower detailed her reasons for burning her MAGA hat before tossing it into a fire.READ MORE: Trump’s furious Taylor Swift comments resurface as her wedding date risks angering himREAD MORE: Trump reveals plan for hotel on the moon in bizarre late-night meltdown
“It says ‘2016 MAGA’ because I voted for Trump in 2016 and I put ‘lies’ because I was lied to and I fell for it and this is actually really awesome that I get to burn this,” she explained. Multiple people accompanying her could also be observed casting their red MAGA hats into the flames.
Trump has already triggered a widening divide within his MAGA following by initiating his military campaign with Israel against Iran. The move provoked fury among voters who supported the president on his pledge to pursue America First policies and stay out of international conflicts.

The president ignited additional outrage among numerous Christian supporters through his Truth Social posts this past weekend. He posted an AI-generated image portraying himself in a Christ-like pose, appearing to heal an injured individual, reports the Irish Star.
Surrounding him in the image are nurses, veterans and active-duty service members, while others are depicted in what resembles a heavenly realm above and behind him. American icons such as the Statue of Liberty and the Lincoln Memorial are also visible in the background.

A massive American flag, along with several military aircraft and eagles, fill the sky near the celestial imagery. “Trump is now posting AI images of himself as Jesus Christ healing, what appears to be, a young Jeffrey Epstein,” Democratic commentator Harry Sisson posted on X, attaching a screenshot of the Truth Social content. One user replied underneath, “That is some blasphemous bulls—.”
Trump uploaded the image shortly after publishing an extended rant about Pope Leo, describing him as “WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy” while taking credit for his elevation to the papacy. The president doubled down on his papal criticism Sunday evening as he stepped off Air Force One, returning from a Florida weekend that included attending UFC 327 and playing golf.
It’s honestly sad to watch these videos but they are everywhere on instagram.

Take me back to 2016. Simpler times.

“Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,” Trump penned on Truth Social. “He talks about ‘fear’ of the Trump Administration, but doesn’t mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers, and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart.”
Rather than praising the newly appointed pontiff, the president pivoted to heap compliments on Pope Leo’s brother Louis, highlighting his backing of the MAGA movement. “He gets it, and Leo doesn’t!” Trump declared.
Trump additionally claimed that Pope Leo “thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon” and voiced his objection to having a pope “who thinks its a terrible idea that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country.

“And I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History,” the president continued. Trump continued by asserting that Pope Leo owed his position to him, suggesting Leo’s papacy was a direct result of Trump’s time in office. “Leo should be thankful because, as everyone knows, he was a shocking surprise. He wasn’t on any list to be Pope, and was only put there by the Church because he was an American, and they thought that would be the best way to deal with President Donald J. Trump,” the president wrote. “If I wasn’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican.”
The president wrapped up his tirade by alleging Pope Leo was conducting meetings with “Obama Sympathizers” without his approval and “catering to the Radical Left. “Unfortunately, Leo’s Weak on Crime, Weak on Nuclear Weapons, does not sit well with me, nor does the fact that he meets with Obama Sympathizers like David Axelrod, a LOSER from the Left, who is one of those who wanted churchgoers and clerics to be arrested,” Trump wrote.
“Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician. It’s hurting him very badly and, more importantly, it’s hurting the Catholic Church! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he added. Trump’s outburst follows Pope Leo’s denunciation of global conflict the previous day, which appeared to be an indirect criticism of the president. “Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life. #Peace,” the pontiff posted on X, accompanied by a Biblical passage.
