“Incompetent”: Donald Trump admits his true feelings about JD Vance during a barely intelligible rant

US President Donald Trump took aim at his own second-in-command while also mocking another vice-presidential contender, turning Tuesday’s 9th Cabinet meeting of his second term into a stream of scattered remarks. During the session, Trump questioned who among JD Vance or Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was more incompetent, drifting into one of his rambling critiques.

“I think the man’s a grossly incompetent man,” Trump said about Walz, adding, “I thought that from the day I watched JD destroy him in a debate. I was saying, ‘Who was more incompetent? That man or my man?’ I had a man, and he had a man—they were both incompetent.” He didn’t stop there, continuing, “I had a man and a woman, I thought she was very incompetent too. But now she’s leading the field, and I think she’s leading the field in the nomination.”

Early in the meeting, Trump insisted that, “generally speaking,” his Cabinet was made up of several “high IQ” individuals, though he also remarked, “A couple of them I’m a little concerned about,” glancing around the table.

At one point, he even praised Kristi Noem for supposedly preventing storms, saying, “You kept the hurricanes away.” Throughout Vance’s comments, Trump maintained a stern look and appeared noticeably sluggish. Reporters observed him struggling to keep his eyes open as others spoke. CNN anchor Pakman later questioned Trump’s lack of alertness during the session. Political strategist Ana Navarro responded by saying, “having your as* kissed for hours can be a little boring.” Trump’s overall delivery came off as disjointed, with him switching between “he” and “she” in ways that made it difficult for White House reporters to follow whom he was referring to.
