Snow White (2025) Quotes + Short Review

Disney’s live-action Snow White (2025) finally hit the screens, and I just had to watch it! 😊 Directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man), this version stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Andrew Burnap plays Jonathan, a new character in this retelling.

The film sticks to the classic story—Snow White, the fairest of them all, is hunted by her jealous stepmother and finds refuge with seven dwarfs in the forest. Together, they embark on a journey to restore her rightful place.

The movie gives Snow White more agency, making her more independent and determined. The Evil Queen’s character gets some extra layers too, though it doesn’t always work. The dwarfs have been modernized, but they still bring that heartwarming charm. The film blends classic songs with new ones, trying to appeal to both nostalgic fans and a new generation.

Snow White 2025 Short Review

As someone who LOVES classic animation, I was excited but also nervous about this adaptation. And I have to say, the scene with the dwarfs in the mine—singing the original song—brought a huge smile to my face. It was pure Disney magic! ✨ But let’s talk about the rest of the movie…

Gal Gadot’s performance as the Evil Queen? Oof. 😬 I wanted to love it, but her musical numbers felt so awkward. It just didn’t have the commanding presence I expected from the iconic villain. I was actually cringing in some scenes. Rachel Zegler, on the other hand, had moments of brilliance as Snow White, but her exaggerated facial expressions got a little too much for me after a while.

And can we talk about those bandit outfits?! What was that? The villagers were dressed way better, and it made the whole thing feel inconsistent. Also, the Queen’s death… what even was that? It felt so lazy and rushed, like they just wanted to get it over with. The climax should have been intense, but instead, it fell completely flat.

That being said, the cinematography was stunning! The colors, the costumes, and the overall visuals were absolutely gorgeous. If I could rate the acting of the animals, they’d get a 10/10 because they were the real MVPs. 😂

In the end, this movie just wasn’t it for me. Snow White was my favorite Disney movie as a kid, and I wanted to feel that magic again. Instead, I was annoyed most of the time. The acting didn’t click, the romance felt forced, and the songs were forgettable. Huge letdown.

In the end, Snow White (2025) had its moments, but it didn’t live up to the magic of the original. The visuals were breathtaking, but the storytelling felt rushed, and some performances didn’t work. If you’re a hardcore Disney fan, you might enjoy it for the nostalgia, but don’t expect anything groundbreaking. For more reviews like this, check out wtfdetective.blog! 😊
