Joe Rogan claims Donald Trump may be more willing to engage in conflicts because “he’s going to die soon” and won’t face the consequences

Joe Rogan continues to rail against President Donald Trump as he breaks away from him on the war in Iran.

On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience Rogan said that Trump’s advanced age means that he is more likely to engage in conflicts because he won’t be around to face the repercussions.

“He’s 80. He doesn’t have much to lose. That’s the scary thing about old leaders. Death is imminent — it’s within a decade, if you’re lucky,” Rogan said. “That’s spooky. You’re making decisions for…the future of the world and you’ve only got maybe 10 years left on earth.”

The U.S launched attacks on Feb. 28 which killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. His son, 56-year-old Mojtaba Khamenei was announced the nation’s new leader on Sunday. The president said the war is “going to be finished pretty quickly,” to congressional Republicans in Florida on March 10.

The president claimed in a video following Operating Epic Fury that Iran posed an “imminent” threat to the American people due to its “nuclear ambitions” and pursuit of “developing the long-range missiles that can now threaten our very good friends and allies in Europe, our troops stationed overseas, and could soon reach the American homeland.”

But Rogan doesn’t agree with the president and has expressed feeling betrayal over Trump’s war with Iran.

At least 1,230 people in Iran have been killed in the conflict, according to the Associated Press, and at least seven U.S. service members are dead. “It just seems so insane based on what he ran on,” Rogan told journalist Michael Shellenberger on Tuesday.

“I mean, this is why a lot of people feel betrayed, right? He ran on ‘No more wars, end these stupid, senseless wars,’ and then we have one that we can’t even really clearly define why we did it.”

Rogan’s podcast is the most listened to podcast in the U.S., according to Spotify. Rogan doesn’t identify as a Republican or Democrat, but he endorsed Trump before the 2024 election and had him on his show.

Trump said appearing on the podcast, which has a large young male audience, helped secure his election win. During his second inauguration last year, the president said his youngest son, Barron, “knew the youth vote” and told his dad, “you gotta go out, do Joe Rogan.”
