If Donald Trump’s administration is serious about uncovering signs of foreign interference in Georgia’s elections, critics say the search may lead back to the president’s longtime ally Elon Musk and the activities of his political action committee.
Members of the Georgia State Election Board voted Wednesday to send a formal letter of reprimand to America PAC over what officials described as an improper campaign effort linked to the 2024 election. Georgia, a critical battleground state during the contest, saw extensive organizing by Trump’s political operation.
In October 2024, the office of the Georgia secretary of state opened an investigation after receiving multiple complaints from voters in several counties who reported getting partially completed absentee ballot applications from Musk’s America PAC, according to State Elections Board chairman John Fervier.
Board vice chairman Janice Johnston said evidence suggested America PAC may have violated state law prohibiting any individual or organization, other than an authorized family member, from sending voters absentee ballot applications already filled out with required personal information.
Johnston also said America PAC failed to clearly disclose that the mailers were not official government documents, were not issued by any public authority, and were not actual ballots.
Following the review, the board voted to issue a formal reprimand letter to America PAC.

The action comes weeks after Donald Trump suggested that his Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard had been seen near a federal raid at an election office in Fulton County, Georgia as part of an investigation into alleged foreign election interference.
Observers noted that the only documented concerns involving interference with voting activity appeared tied to Trump-aligned efforts, echoing controversies that followed the 2020 election cycle.
