The Department of Justice on Friday made public a massive new tranche of materials tied to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, releasing roughly 3 million documents alongside about 2,000 videos and an estimated 180,000 images. The newly unsealed records include references to high-profile figures such as Jay-Z, Pusha T, and Harvey Weinstein.
The appearances of those names are not drawn from Epstein’s own records or from findings confirmed by law enforcement. Instead, the two musicians and the disgraced film producer were cited in an FBI tip that was preserved as part of the broader Epstein case file. The tip itself does not indicate that any of the individuals were investigated, nor does it suggest guilt or corroborate the allegations described.
According to an FBI crisis intake report contained in the latest document release, an anonymous alleged victim claimed she had been drugged and sexually assaulted on multiple occasions over several years. In that report, she identified Pusha T, whose legal name is Terrence LeVarr Thornton, as one of her alleged “handlers.” The same report states that the woman said she once woke up in a room with Weinstein and Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter. It also noted that because she was drugged during both incidents, her recollection was impaired.

Representatives for Jay-Z and Pusha T did not immediately respond to Variety’s requests for comment.
HR director arrested for allegedly drugging over 200 female applicants to make them urinate during interviewsThe newly released files also include a reference to director Mira Nair, the mother of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Nair was mentioned by name in an email sent by publicist Peggy Siegal to Epstein. In the message, Siegal wrote that she had seen Nair at an after-party for the 2009 film “Amelia,” which Nair directed. The email does not allege misconduct or suggest any investigation.
A spokesperson for Nair likewise did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Variety.
Also included in the document dump are messages between Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of child sex trafficking connected to Epstein, and Casey Wasserman, the chair of the LA28 Olympics organizing committee. In one exchange, Maxwell offered Wasserman a massage that could “drive a man wild.”
In a statement obtained by Variety, Wasserman said his interactions with Maxwell took place “over two decades ago” and occurred “long before her horrific crimes came to light.” He also denied having any relationship with Epstein.
Wasserman said, “I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”

The release follows a rare bipartisan effort in Congress that led President Donald Trump to sign the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law last November. Since then, large volumes of previously sealed material related to the Epstein investigation have been made public. Trump himself has a long-documented but contested history with the late financier and has repeatedly denied any awareness of Epstein’s criminal conduct. During Trump’s second term, the Epstein files have continued to loom large in both political debate and popular culture, referenced across media ranging from “Saturday Night Live” to “South Park.”
